The Mumbai High Court stated that candidates complaining about irregularities in the state service commission exam are not social troublemakers, and the responsibility to conduct the recruitment exam impartially lies with the state government. Students are holding protests in Pune alleging malpractices in the MPSAC exam. A petition alleging violation of public peace has been filed before the bench of Justice Mahesh Chandr Tripathi and Justice Adwait Seth. The court expressed this view today. The court clarified that the state government must ensure that any MPSAC or other examination is impartial and completely free of malpractices, and if there is any suspicion of malpractice, it is the right of the students to protest. The police, through the government advocates, informed the court that no FIR would be filed against the students protesting. The court directed the administration to submit a plan for action on the demands of the agitation within the next three weeks. One of the agitating organizations has shown readiness to stop the protests, while two other organizations have shown readiness to hold the protests at the places designated by the municipal corporation.
