Municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi has instructed cable operators to remove unauthorized cables immediately. He also indicated that action will be taken to remove cables if regulations are violated, and connections will be disconnected as needed. The city has about 610 km of piping available for underground cable installation, with a target to complete the work in one year. Instructions have also been issued to remove cables that are disconnected and not in use. The municipality is preparing the proposed standard methodology for this purpose.
